Our French vinegar is a true artisan product that comes from a very specific region in France, the “Reims-Ardenne” one; it is made from chardonnay and pinot noir grapes: the juice of these French-born fruits is combined with a type of bacteria known as “Acetobacter aceti” to transform all the ethanol in the base product into acetic acid, which is what gives vinegar the tangy and acidic taste. The product is typically left to age in oak barrels for a year or two to deepen its flavor until it is bottled up for sale. It has a balance of sweet and sour flavor, which makes the vinegar versatile to use it in many dishes; thanks to its elegant blend of acidity, fruitiness, and richness, it is perfect for dipping crudité, drizzling on salads, and as a substitute for lemon juice in simple vinaigrettes. It is ideal for cooked vegetables and sauces too, and it can also be used to dress boiled meat and fish
